There are articles so that the teacher could keep the students up to date on current events and other civics related programs that are occurring. Ben's Guide to U.S. Government This is an informational website that students can visit to learn about the government in the community and in the country. It has content that is specific to each grade level. iCivics iCivics is a website that has a variety of free civics lesson plans for teachers and games to help the students learn about civics. We the Civics Kids We the Civics Kids is an excellent resource for teachers and students. There are lesson plans, games, activities, and videos all focused around civics. The games are informational and exciting for the students as well. Congress for Kids This student-friendly website has quizzes centered around Civics, as well as a section-by-section description about the Constitution! It is full of information for kids about many different areas of Civics. |

Scholastic: Economy for Kids
Scholastic is a great resource for economics.This site has articles and activities that deal with current economic issues that are addressed in the classroom. EconEdLink This is a great website for teachers and students to use. There are many different lessons that teachers can get ideas from, as well as interactive tools that students can use to further develop their understanding. The Banking Kids This is a site for kids of all ages. It has a variety of banking related activities such as coloring, crosswords, counting change, and writing checks. Kids Econ Posters This website gives teachers all of the tools they need for an economics lesson. It provides teachers with posters, DVDs, activities and games. PBS Kids: Money On this website students can learn more about how to save money, how to make money, and how to manage their money. With interactive tools, students can use this website to learn essential skills. |
Geography Resources
CIA: Kids Zone
This website has many fun and interactive games for kids. An excellent geography game is called World Exploration, where the students must answer geographical questions in order to hunt down a fugitive. These games are great for testing students geography knowledge. Google Earth Google Earth is a fantastic way to see the world around them. This Google App allows us to see different geographical portions of the earth from different zoom levels, and in 3D. This would be an excellent resource to use for any project. National Geographic for Kids National Geographic for Kids is a wonderful resource for kids to discover new facts about different countries.This student-friendly website has games and activities that are centered around geographical quick facts to help students learn. Jump Start This website is a great resource for teachers to find geography themed lessons, worksheets, and activities that will expand their students knowledge. It also includes a variety of interactive games that the students can play. Landform Regions of the United States This site is an interactive map that shows different landform regions of the United States.Students are able to click on the map and find out which regions of our country have different landforms. There are tons of instructional videos, classroom observations and other links that are great for students and teachers to use! Flashcard Machine This is a great website for teachers and students to create vocabulary flashcards for any subject area. I also like this resource because it is easy for kids to use at home with their parents. iKnowthat This is a useful resource for students and teachers to find online games and activities. iKnowthat is an easy to navigate site that can be utilized for different grade levels and subject areas. |

Library of Congress
The Library of Congress website is full of lesson plans, activities, worksheets and many other resources for teachers. This is a great site that can be used by students as well for exploring aspects of our history. Kidipede: History for Kids This website has a lot of information about history! This would be a great resource to use for projects about different countries, as it is divided by countries and regions and has specific information to each one. Discovery Education Discovery Education has resources that can be used by teachers of any grade level. This website is centered around U.S. History and has lesson plans for a variety of topics. Michigan Kids! This is an excellent resource for all facts about Michigan, especially Michigan history! Michigan Kids! offers puzzles, factbooks, pictures, maps, and much more all focused on the state of Michigan. This website is very user-friendly and would be easy for students to navigate. National Geographic for Kids The history portion of this website contains information about U.S. History as well as World History! This information is told through a variety of stories and fun facts to make the learning interesting! Special Education Resources

This site is an excellent resource for teachers with Special Needs students. It has many great resources to offer, such as picture cards, songs, games, print-outs and activities that would be cool to use in any classroom. TeacherVision TeacherVision is an informational website for teachers to learn about different disorders that students may deal with in their classroom. It also has numerous printables, assessment accomodations, classroom managament and disciple ideas. Special Needs Ideas This site is filled with ideas and tips for teaching students with special needs. The site also provides worksheets, activities, ideas and tips for specific disorders. This site is filled with information and tips that will be very useful in a classroom. |
